Koli Calling pre-conference workshop: AI Education for Novice Learners
November 13, 2024, Joensuu, Finland
As applications of artificial intelligence (AI) continue to transform work, society, and people’s personal lives, there is a growing need to understand how to effectively teach novice learners about AI mechanisms, limitations, new ethical questions, and much more. This pre-conference workshop brings together experts in computing/AI education and educational research to discuss the shift from classical computing education to AI education and explore its impacts on the field of computing education research. The workshop will address AI education broadly, in terms of content, pedagogy, tools, approaches, and ethical questions involved.
The event is organized by the Technologies for Learning Research Group at School of Computing, University of Eastern Finland. Our speakers comprise leaders in computing education research and educational technology and their presentations will be valuable for educators within the computing field and beyond.
The workshop is chaired by Professor Matti Tedre and Dr. Ismaila Sanusi.
